Friends, I’m JOSH FR3DA. I blend country, rock, alternative, and the blues with stories from my life and soulful swagger to make my fans feel deep and feel good. I’m deeply inspired by Freddie Mercury, Annie Lennox, James Brown, Aerosmith, Shania Twain, Hootie & the Blowfish, and Faith Hill.
In May 2018, I did a rendition of Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud at a work event, and afterwards, a guy came up to me and said “you need to find a way to do this.” That night, I went on Thumbtack and found a vocal coach. Slowly, she helped me train my voice, develop my sound, and find the confidence to go after the biggest version of my music dreams.
In July 2021, I was performing at a showcase in Chicago when I caught the attention of a Nashville producer and songwriter. We hit it off, started collaborating, and slowly wrote a bunch of songs together. My first record, an EP called Turn Him Loose, is an autobiographical battery for self-love and swagger. I sing about coming out, my dogs, physical insecurities, finding my sexy, and coming into my own. Really, I’m just singing out loud what I need to hear myself. Maybe you’ll relate? If so, boogie. We’re in this together.
